Sobre as árvores , a biodiversidade e a disrupção climática:
Plantar árvores para proteger uma floresta da erosão e do desmatamento é algo benéfico, necessário e uma ação que ajuda a deter os agentes da disrupção climática.
É preciso porém entender a diferença entre uma floresta e uma plantação de árvores:
Uma floresta é um ecossistema que abriga uma grande biodiversidade, é autossustentável e é benéfica em muitos aspectos para a questão do clima.
Porém o simples plantio de árvores não faz uma floresta. Por exemplo, uma grande plantação de árvores de Eucaliptos não é uma floresta, é uma plantação de Eucaliptos,e é uma monocultura!
As florestas devem ser protegidas e ajudadas com a plantação das árvores nativas nas áreas desmatadas, e assim tentar preservar aquele ecossistema.
Uma preocupação de quem se ocupa com este tema é alertar o público sobre as soluções falsas para o problema, que são chamadas de "greenwashing". Ou seja, algo é pintado como verde mas de verdade é uma solução só na aparência.
Não se pode considerar a queima de florestas como sendo "energia renovável" ( porque as florestas não são renováveis) e investir recursos nisto, os recursos devem ser investidos em energia de fato renovável como eólica, geotérmica, solar, etc.
Em 14 de setembro de 2022, o Parlamento Europeu passou uma nova emenda sobre biomassa que estabelece uma gradual redução nos danosos subsídios para a queima de árvores inteiras para gerar energia.
Contudo, o parlamento não estabeleceu um inequivoco cronograma para esta redução, e algumas clausulas da nova emenda – permitir a queima de árvores de florestas afetadas por pestes ou crescimento excessivo – carregam o risco de perpetuar a fraude nestas práticas que já se espalhou por muitos países na Europa Oriental.

About trees and climate disruption and biodiversity:
Planting trees to protect a forest from erosion and logging is beneficial, necessary, and helpful in slowing down the agents of climate disruption.
We must, however, understand the difference between a forest and a tree plantation:
A forest is an ecosystem that contains great biodiversity, it is self-sustaining and it helps climate in a variety of ways. However, the simple planting of trees does not create a forest. For example, a large collection of planted Eucalyptus trees is not a forest, it is an Eucalyptus plantation, it is a monoculture!
Forests must be protected and helped with the planting of native trees in deforested areas, and, this way, try to preserve that ecosystem.
A concern of those who deal with this topic is to alert the public regarding false solutions for the problem, called "greenwashing". Meaning something being positioned as green but that only appears to be a solution.
On September 14, 2022, the European parliament passed a new amendment on biomass that establishes a phase down of harmful subsidies for the burning of whole trees for energy.
However the parliament didn’t set a clear timetable for the phase down, and the new amendment’s loopholes – allowing the burning of trees from forests affected by pests or from windfalls – risk perpetuating the fraud in these practices that is already widespread in many countries in Eastern Europe.
